Prestonsburg, Ky.–The Floyd County Shriners work year round to help transport the children of Floyd County to and from the Shriners Hospital in Lexington. Having to go to the hospital at any time during the Christmas Holiday can be tough on anyone, but especially children. The Floyd County Shriners Club is doing what they can to make their Christmas a little merrier. The 13th annual Christmas Party for the Floyd County Shrine kids will provide around 100 Floyd County children with Christmas gifts this year and you can help them do that this week as The Brickhouse Restaurant in Prestonsburg will be offering a special deal for those who wish to donate to the cause.
Ladonna McKinney: “Anyone can bring in an unwrapped new toy, give it to your server and we are providing a free appetizer for each new toy brought in. With the economy being down at this time at Christsmas both owners of the Brickhouse wanted to give back to the kids and let them know that Brickhouse is still here.”
James Spears: “It’s very important with the sponsorship to have these parties because if we didn’t have the sponsorships we couldn’t have the party for the Floyd County Shrine Kids. The kids that are not going to get much for Christmas have the opportunity to come and spend the day with us and every kid that will be there that day will get a gift. We are very grateful for the sponsor’s and the people that help us to make the kids Christmas a little bit better than probably what it would have been.”
You can donate your toy and receive a free appetizer from The Brickhouse Restaurant in Prestonsburg on Demeber 8th, 9th and 10th.
