Reward offered in Knott elk poaching case

A reward is being offered in an elk poaching case out of Knott County.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for poaching two bull elk in the Ball Creek area of Knott County. The poaching of the animals is believed to have occurred on Thursday.

According to the agency, the League of Kentucky Sportsmen and Safari Club International’s Kentuckiana Chapter donated toward the reward.

Those with information on the incident are asked to contact Kentucky Fish and Wildlife by sending tips to 1-800-25-ALERT, or by calling Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard, at, (606) 435-6069.
