Work is now underway on Kentucky 1427 or Abbott Creek Road in Floyd County temporarily closing the road to all traffic.

An embankment failure closed one lane of the road on January 2nd two point three miles from US 23. Now that work to repair the failure is underway, the road will be closed from 8:15am until 6:00pm. We are told school traffic will be accommodated as needed.

The work is expected to take two or three days as crews will have to drill two rows of railroad steel to get the pavement and shoulder width back where they should be.
