Floyd County, Ky.–The Floyd County School Transportation Department is having a coat drive for all preschool and head start students in the Floyd County School System.
Each year the bus drivers try to do something special for the students they serve and this year they are partnering with Operation Warm in an attempt to provide 300 students with brand new coats.
“They see children that even if they have a coat it is time for an update and it may have a little bit of more wear and tear than they normally would and they’re very, very in tune to making sure that they serve these children and serve them well and I think they are to be commended just for going above and beyond just doing their duty because they actually care a lot about these kids. A lot of them haul these children for their entire school career so they grow very close to them and it seems to me we have a very nurturing and caring staff here.”
If you would like to donate to the coat drive you can make a tax deductible donation at operationwarm.org/floydcounty
