Security a priority at this weekend’s Kentucky Apple Festival

In the past 48 hours, the number of those killed or injured in Sunday’s Las Vegas shooting has continued to rise. And, the fact that the gunman opened fire into a crowd of people attending an outdoor event has reminded everyone how easily those things can happen. That being said, this weekend, thousands of people will gather in Paintsville for the Kentucky Apple Festival. And, everyone involved in the planning of the festival, from organizers to first responders, say the Las Vegas massacre will remain in the back of their minds.Johnson County Emergency Management Director, Gary McClure says there will be police officers from different agencies as well as EMS crews stationed in different areas of downtown Paintsville throughout the festival.
