Frankfort, KY — Phillip Wheeler was sworn in Tuesday as the new State Senator for the 31st District. Wheeler won the special election called by Governor Matt Bevin to fill the vacant seat left by Ray S. Jones after his election as Pike County Judge Executive. Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes certified the result of the Special Election Tuesday and Wheeler was sworn in shortly afterward in the Senate Chambers by Court of Appeals Judge Larry Thompson with Senate Majority Leader Damon Thayer on hand to witness the event along with members of Wheeler’s family.
