Shelby Valley student arrested after alleged threats against students

A Shelby Valley High School student is facing a criminal charge after allegedly making a threat against the school.

According to a Kentucky State Police statement, KSP Post 9 in Pikeville received a complaint Thursday just before 10 a.m. of a juvenile making threats to do harm to students at Shelby Valley. The agency began investigating and the student was charged with terroristic threatening.

The student, the statement said, was lodged in the juvenile detention center in Breathitt County following the incident.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Sheldon Thomas is conducting the investigation into the incident. That investigation is ongoing.
