Shooting near Lexington nightclub leaves one hospitalized

Lexington Metro Police are continuing their investigation into a weekend shooting that has left one victim hospitalized and recovering from injuries following emergency surgery.

According to authorities, the shooting took place in the vicinity of Two Keys Tavern, a popular night club located near the University of Kentucky campus. Officials are not releasing the name of the victim currently.

A spokesperson told Mountain Top Media they were searching for a man with dreadlocks who was wearing a blue shirt at the time of the incident.

Police records said the shooter, and the unidentified victim, were engaged in an argument when the suspect went to his vehicle, retrieved a gun, returned and shot the victim.

The shooting took placed around 1:30 a.m., according to police records.

The victim was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he remains hospitalized.
