Son Accused Of Dousing Father With Gasoline

South Williamson, KY — A son is in jail for allegedly pouring gasoline on his father. Kentucky State Police responded to an emergency call Wednesday evening in South Williamson. When Troopers arrived, they found James Crabtree Senior in the back of an Appalachian First Response Ambulance in distress with a strong odor of gasoline. Crabtree Senior told Troopers that his son, 21-year-old James “Jimmy” Crabtree of South Williamson had come into his bedroom and poured gasoline on his torso and face. Brenda Crabtree, Crabtree Senior’s wife, told Troopers that Crabtree Junior got upset when his father told him that his girlfriend was not allowed at the house. Crabtree Junior told Troopers that it was his father that poured gasoline on himself in an attempt to frame him. James Crabtree Senior was transported to South Williamson ARH for treatment. James Crabtree Junior was arrested and charged with 4th degree Assault and Menacing and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
