Martin County, KY — A Martin County man has been arrested and charged with fighting with his father. Martin County Sheriff John Kirk and Deputy Aaron Blevins responded to the complaint at Little Peter Cave Road near Inez. When they arrived, they found 33-year-old Dennis A. Maynard in the yard. According to the arrest citation, Maynard’s mother told authorities that Maynard and his father had been fighting. Maynard’s father said his son had hit him in the head. Deputy Blevins stated in the citation that Dennis A. Maynard was too impaired to perform a field sobriety test and placed Maynard under arrest. Maynard began to scuffle with authorities but was finally subdued and handcuffed. Maynard was charged with Assault 4th degree, Resisting Arrest, Menacing and Public Intoxication and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
