A high speed police chase in Wise County ends with several police cruisers damaged and the suspect behind bars.

It happened this morning on Route 23 in the Pound area when police attempted to stop a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Kentucky.

The female driver, 30-year-old Erika Nicole Lucas of Shelbiana, fled from law enforcement leading them on a several mile pursuit at speeds of close to 100 miles per hour at times..
She rammed several police vehicles during the pursuit before being stopped by deputies from the Wise County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police.
She was transported to Norton Community Hospital with minor injuries. One Virginia State Trooper received minor injuries. Three Wise County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and two Virginia State Police vehicles received damaged.

Several charges will be pending on Erika Nicole Lucas.
