SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Two people were arrested on outstanding warrants and drug charges, after the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office got a tip about their location.
Just after midnight Tuesday, deputies went to a camper on Far Middle Fork, where they were told they could find 48-year-old Jeffrey Lykins and 32-year-old Jessica Arnett.
When they arrived, deputies say they found Lykins in the bathroom standing on a toilet with a belt around his arm and a syringe of heroin in his hand.
It took longer to find Arnett, who they finally found hiding inside a chest freezer at a neighboring home. The police report notes she was shivering and stuttering when they questioned her after finding her.
Deputies also found a small bag of heroin and several loaded syringes in the camper, and Arnett later told police she had an ounce of heroin hidden in a body cavity.
Arnett was arrested on heroin trafficking and other charges. Lykins is charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia.
