Prestonsburg, Ky.–It happened when a Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop when he recognized the driver, 30-year old Laken Harris of Printer, as having an active warrant. The passenger in the vehicle, 38-year old William Castle also of Printer, allegedly told the Deputy he had a gun in the glove box. While searching Castle, 4 bags containing what is believed to be meth was found. A set of scales, a gun and several pills were found inside the car. Harris allegedly told the Deputy the pills were hers and that they had bought the meth to resell it.
Castle was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a minor because his 13-year old son being in the car. Harris was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Harris was also served with a bench warrant for failure to appear in court to answer to the charges of public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and 2nd degree wanton endangerment stemming from a May 17th incident.
