U.S. 23 at Jenkins was shut down for several hours Friday.

A single-vehicle, non-injury accident involving a tractor-trailer fouled traffic on the busy roadway. Jenkins Police told EKB News that the driver of the truck lost control while traveling southbound down the Pound-Jenkins Mountain portion of Pine Mountain, and crashed through a guardrail. The driver was not injured.

U.S. 23 was reopened just after noon Friday after the scene was cleared by emergency personnel.
