Wednesday, in Pikeville, educators and other members of the UNITE Pike Coalition listened as Van Ingram, the Executive Director for the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy discussed the state’s response to the opioid crisis.  One main point he stressed to the group was the importance of changing the way both physicians and patients view opioid use, especially following an injury or minor surgery.  The UNITE Pike Coalition meets the first Wednesday of each month at noon at First Baptist Church of Pikeville.
