Johnson County, KY — Authorities are investigating a fatal fire in Johnson County. Kentucky State Police at the Pikeville Post has opened a death investigation after a structure fire on Grassy Creek resulted in a death. Shortly before 5:00 AM Saturday morning, Kentucky State Police received a 911 call of a fire in the Staffordsville community of Johnson County. During the preliminary investigation, the victim, who was identified as 62-year-old Marvin D. Saylor of Grassy Creek, was discovered in the residence. Johnson County Coroner JR Frisby pronounced Saylor deceased at the scene.
