Williamson nurse who addressed RNC arrested after shooting

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — A registered nurse from Williamson who made headlines back in August when she addressed the Republican National Convention has been charged with shooting another woman.

Amy Thorn, 39, also known as Amy Ford, praised President Trump during the first night of the RNC for expanding access to telemedicine.

But a different picture emerged last Thursday, when she is accused of getting into an argument with another woman. Police say she left, retrieved a gun, and returned to shoot the other woman in the lower abdomen.

Thorn has been charged with malicious wounding and remains free on bond.
