Magoffin County, KY — A Magoffin County woman is behind bars after trying to flee from police. According to the arrest citation, 43-year-old Teresa Salyer of Salyersville was at the Justice Center when she was spotted by a Court Security Officer. Salyer had a warrant and when the Court Officer attempted to serve her, she took off toward her vehicle attempting to get away. A fight ensued between Salyer and the Court Officer as a Magoffin County Sheriff Deputy arrived. The officers pulled Salyer out of the vehicle after she attempted to start the vehicle. Authorities state that Salyer would not put her hands behind her back and a stun gun was used twice on her. Officers stated in the citation that Salyer had put pills in her mouth and ate them. Salyer was taken into custody and transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Salyer was charged with fleeing or evading police, disorderly conduct, menacing and resisting arrest.
