Woman Charged With Death In Crash

Logan County, WV — A single vehicle care crash Tuesday in Logan County, West Virginia has now led to the driver being charged in connection to the death of a passenger. According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, 35- year-old Amber Faye Jude of Mallory was driving a 2013 Ford F150 pickup on Huff Creek Road heading toward Wyoming County. Deputies say Jude said she had passed out, ran off the road and struck a telephone pole cutting it in half. During their investigation, Deputies found two small bags, on containing marijuana the other containing what is believed to be meth. The passenger, 33-year-old Melanie Gaye Boothe of Cyclone was transported by Air Evac Life Team to an area hospital where she died Wednesday from her injuries. Jude had been charged with DUI causing injury, Possession of a controlled substance among other charges however, due to the death of Boothe, charges have been amended to DUI causing death. Jude remains lodged in the Southwestern Region Jail.
