INEZ, KY.-Law enforcement often credit the community for the success of their drug investigations as many of their drug busts are as result of anonymous tips. That was the case today in Inez, when the Martin County Sheriff’s Department responded to a tip of suspicious activity of the parking lot of the Brookshire Inn motel. When deputies arrived on scene, they called in their K-9 officer, Grimm, who validated the reason for that anonymous call.
“We found what appears to be 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine that was in a crown royal bag in the vehicle. I also found two syringes and what appears to be suboxone and one syringe that still had a substance in it. You know it takes a community to have a community and keep a community safe. So the more tips that we get from the public the better we can have an affect on discarding a lot of drugs in our communities.”
36-year old Terri Samons of lovely and 37-year old Richard McCoy of Inez were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center
