3 years later, police still investigating cold case murder

Kentucky State Police detectives are continuing to investigate a cold murder case in Pike County.

Kentucky State Police Trooper William Petry tells Mountain Top News that the investigation into the murder of Clancy Ray Adkins at his home off Coon Branch Road near Pikeville is ongoing. Tuesday marked the third anniversary of Adkins’ murder.

He was shot through the front door of his residence in February 2017 and was found dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Petry says detectives are still working to determine who killed Adkins, and why.
