PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  Tuesday, the state senate seat for the 31st district was filled as Phillip Wheeler defeated Darrell Pugh, filling the unexpired term of now Pike County Judge Executive Ray Jones. Wheeler says he is more than ready to hit the ground running as soon as he is sworn in.
