Wise County, VA — The operator of a summer camp for children in Wise County, Virginia will go to jail for one year for having a sexual relationship with a teen camper. 67-year-old Jeffery David Rolen, a former youth pastor from Wise, was ordered to jail immediately after his sentencing Wednesday in Wise County Circuit Court. Rolen pleaded guilty to seven counts of indecent liberties with a child under the age of 18 back in November of 2018. The sex crimes occurred during a two-year period in the 1980’s while he was associated with Christian-based Camp Bethel. After his release from jail, he will serve 10 years on probation and will be required to register as a sex offender.
