Man Arrested After Hitting Child

Pike County, KY — A Pike County man is in jail after striking his child. According to an arrest citation, Kentucky State Police responded to a domestic assault complaint in the Zebulon community of Pike County Wednesday night. After arriving, Troopers found the caller and her children had locked themselves inside the bathroom. Troopers say the mother and daughter both indicated that 37-year-old Jeremy Blevins had struck his daughter several times, once open handed to the face following a verbal altercation. Troopers wrote in the citation that another male child was also in the home at the time of the incident and heard the altercation, but he was too afraid to come out of his room at the time. Blevins admitted to the Trooper that he had struck his daughter. Troopers placed Blevins under arrest and lodged him in the Pike County Detention Center. Blevins is charged with Assault, 4th degree Child Abuse.
