PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Two Salyersville men have been indicted in federal court for a scheme to distribute oxycodone.

Gregory Howard, 51, and Jesse Murrell Jr., 56, are each charged with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone. Howard is also charged with 13 counts of distributing the drug, while Murrell is charged with three counts.

They are accused of a scheme to distribute the pills from March of 2022 until earlier this month.

Each of the charges typically carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years, but Howard will face up to 30 years because of previous felony drug convictions.

Authorities are also seeking the forfeiture of more than $37,000 and a piece of property on Bloomington Road that were seized from Howard.
