PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man accused of distributing drugs in Pike and Floyd counties now appears ready to enter a guilty plea.
Joshua Habern, 41, is charged in federal court with several counts related to the distribution of meth and fentanyl, as well as a number of gun charges.
He was scheduled to go on trial Feb. 5, but this week, he notified the court that he has reached a plea deal with prosecutors and now wishes to enter a guilty plea. His motion did not detail to what charges he plans to plead.
Habern had faced a potential life sentence if convicted of all charges at trial, but will likely face much less time in prison with a guilty plea.
His re-arraignment has been set for Feb. 1, in Lexington.
