SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. — Two Eastern Kentucky residents were arrested in Shelby County Thursday night, after they were found passed out in a pickup truck full of drugs.
A Simpsonville police officer was flagged down by several people who were concerned about an unconscious man and woman in a truck at the Pilot truck stop.
Inside the truck were Alyssa Fields, 24, and Corey Gamble, 33, both of Vicco. The officer was initially able to wake Fields but not Gamble.
Based on their actions and evidence he could see from outside the car, the officer called in a drug dog, which alerted on the car. A search then turned up a large amount of heroin under the passenger seat, as well as a small amount of meth under Fields’ legs. The officer also found digital scales, a gun and several glass pipes.
Fields and Gamble were arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
