Pike-Mingo police chase ends with suspect shot and killed

LYNN, W.Va. — A police chase that began in Kentucky and ended in West Virginia has resulted in the death of one of the suspects.

It all began with the theft of a flatbed truck out of Mingo County. Kentucky State Police later spotted the truck at a Pike County gas station around 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, which began the chase.

KSP ended their involvement once the truck crossed back into West Virginia.

Around 7 o’clock Tuesday night, one of the suspects was shot by police and died at the scene.

The Associated Press is reporting that the suspect has been identified as Robert Lee Daniels Jr., 27, of Freeburn.

West Virginia State Police is investigating the incident and is not releasing any additional information until their investigation is complete.
