SITKA, Ky. — A Johnson County man wanted after being indicted for running from police was arrested Friday morning, after leading police on a chase.
A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy spotted Tylor Douglas Wagoner, 26, of Meally, riding an ATV on Route 201 just after 1:30 Friday morning.
The deputy knew Wagoner to be wanted on a couple of active warrants, including one after he was indicted for fleeing police, endangering an officer and other charges. When the deputy tried to stop him, he said Wagoner sped away instead, prompting yet another chase.
The pursuit continued back and forth on Route 201 before Wagoner turned into a back yard and ran into a fence. He managed to turn the ATV around but then ran straight into the pursuing deputy’s cruiser. A passenger on the ATV fell off and Wagoner once again took off.
His ATV was found abandoned sometime later. Finally, police found him hiding in some bushes a quarter-mile away, nearly two hours after the chase began.
Wagoner now faces new charges of fleeing police, wanton endangerment and numerous traffic violations, in addition to the previous charges.
