SIDNEY, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested after police sought help from the public in solving the theft of an air compressor.

Early Saturday morning, a Sidney resident reported the theft of the $3,000 air compressor the night before by a man who had been on his property two days in a row, taking the compressor the second day and causing property damage in the process.
Kentucky State Police public information officer Michael Coleman shared security camera photos of the man on Facebook, which resulted in an anonymous tip identifying the man as David Collins, 57, of Belfry.
When police went to Collins’ home to ask him about it, they noticed the truck seen in the pictures in his garage and the air compressor behind the truck. Collins allegedly admitted the theft when questioned.
Collins was arrested and charged with felony theft, trespassing and criminal mischief. He is being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
