ZEBULON, Ky. — What began as a flat tire grew progressively worse for a Pikeville man now accused of receiving stolen property and drug trafficking.
A Kentucky State Police trooper responding to a theft complaint had agreed to meet the victim at the Napa store in Zebulon.
When he arrived, he noticed 45-year-old Harold Douglas Hall sitting in a Chevy Trailblazer on a jack with the front tire off. The trooper asked if Hall needed help, but he said he was just waiting for a friend to return so they could finish repairing the vehicle.
A short time later, two women arrived at the store and confronted Hall about the Trailblazer being stolen from them. The officer confirmed that vehicle belonged to them.
One of the women then brought the officer a bag containing several plastic bags of meth found inside the car, and the officer soon discovered what he described as a large sum of money in Hall’s pocket.
Hall was arrested and booked in the Pike County Detention Center.
