PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Police are investigating after a body was found in the remains of a burned home.

According to Kentucky State Police, a call came in just after 10 p.m., Wednesday, reporting a house fire on Caney Drive. Firefighters then discovered a body inside the building.

Police say the cause of both the death and the fire are under investigation, but foul play is not suspected at this time. The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and identification.
