PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A Knott County man has been charged with drug trafficking and child endangerment, after allegedly going shopping in Pikeville while under the influence of drugs, with two young children in tow.

Police were called to the Pikeville Commons shopping center after a witness reported a possibly intoxicated man had left the two children unoccupied in a car. When officers arrived, no one was in the car, but Andrew Hall, 22, of Dema, soon arrived at the car, along with a 5-year-old child and a 2-month-old baby.

Police learned then learned there were five active warrants for Hall’s arrest, so they took him into custody. They also found him in possession of meth, heroin, marijuana and an unknown powder, along with cash and paraphernalia. He was charged with child endangerment, trafficking in meth and heroin, and drug possession.

The officers then found the children’s mother – 21-year-old Alyssa Slone – a few shops away, but discovered she appeared to be under the influence. She allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana and snorting hydrocodone earlier.

She was also arrested and charged with public intoxication and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
