PARKER, Colo. — Rocky Vista University has named a University of Pikeville executive as its next president, following a nationwide search.

The university announced Dr. Lori Werth will take over the role in July.
Werth currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at the University of Pikeville, where she has helped lead strategic growth and expand academic programs, including in healthcare and graduate education.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Lori Werth as the next president of Rocky Vista University,” said Gaurov Dayal, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of Medforth Global Healthcare Education and member of the Board of Trustees of RVU. “Her experienced leadership in healthcare professional education, her unwavering commitment to student achievement, and her dedication to institutional growth and innovation are a perfect match for RVU. We are confident she will guide Rocky Vista University to even greater success in the years to come.”

Werth holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Idaho and has received a Fulbright Scholar award.
She is expected to begin visiting RVU campuses in the coming months as part of the leadership transition.
Werth was also recently a finalist for president at University of Findlay.
The University of Pikeville has not released a public statement about the news.
