A refusal of romantic advances allegedly led to a man becoming angered and damaging a Pike County residence.
According to court documents, 18-year-old Dylan Stapleton was arrested Saturday morning after he allegedly became angry when romantic advances toward a woman were refused and an argument followed.
Court documents said Kentucky State Police responded to a complaint at a residence on Pinsonfork Road. According to court documents, Stapleton had been drinking with his girlfriend and another female, whom court documents identified as the girlfriend of Stapleton’s girlfriend’s father. Stapleton allegedly began flirting with the woman, who then told Stapleton’s girlfriend about the flirtation.
An argument ensued, court documents said, and Stapleton allegedly broke a window and began damaging items in the house, including a television and dishes. Court documents said the damage exceeded $500 in value.
Dylan Stapleton was arrested on a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. He was released later Saturday after posting a $5,000 cash bond, and is due in court July 3.
