
FRANKFORT, Ky. — The latest county-level unemployment figures show the jobless rating falling by about a full percentage point in most counties around the region, except for Pike County.
November unemployment figures around the region from a low of 5.7 percent in Letcher County, to a high of 8.4 percent in Martin County, which is the highest in the state.
And in most of the eight-county area, those figures are down from November of 2024. The lone exception is Pike County, which saw unemployment rise from 6.6 percent in Nov. 2024 to 7.2 percent one year later.
Statewide, the average unemployment rate is 4.5 percent.
