Arrest Made In Death Investigation

Hazard, KY — A person of interest in a death investigation in Hazard has been arrested. Hazard Police Deputy Chief James East arrested Anthony Lewis of Leslie County in the Big Creek community shortly before 9:00 AM Monday morning. Authorities had been searching for Lewis in connection with a body being found in Bobby Davis park Sunday morning. The Perry County Coroner has identified the victim as 37-year-old Marlena Holland. Both Lewis and Holland had been staying at the Hope House on North Main Street in Hazard and authorities say that Lewis and Holland apparently knew each other. Hazard Police report that Lewis was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hazard Police Department for questioning.
