Wise County, VA — Remote Area Medical (RAM) announced that it will not hold a clinic in Wise County beginning next year. The organization announced that it will “be focusing on serving other communities in need across the United States in 2020.” RAM held its first clinic in Wise in 1999. RAM said in recent years that The Health Wagon and other organizations have increased resources in the community. Because of this and because RAM has increased its number of clinics in surrounding areas the number of people served at the Wise clinic has declined over the past several years. Volunteers who have helped with the Wise clinic in the past are invited to volunteer at other RAM clinics.
