Letcher County, KY — An ATV crash has tragically claimed the life of a Letcher County child. According to Kentucky State Police post 13 Hazard, Troopers responded to a residence on Laurel Lane in the Gordon community Sunday evening shortly before 6:30 pm. During the initial investigation, it was determined that a 9-year-old girl was operating a Kids ATV in the driveway of her residence when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree. The child was pronounced deceased at the scene by Letcher County Coroner Renee Campbell. An autopsy will be performed at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
