In April, the public got a sneak peek at “tiny houses” being built by eastern Kentucky High School students at the KVEC (Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative) Fire Summit in Pikeville. KVEC provides $15,000 dollars to schools who want to participate in the project called “Building it Forward,” where they build complete houses between 200 and 300 square feet. The tiny houses are then auctioned off to the highest bidder. That online auction is now up and running. You can get more information on the project and even bid on the tiny houses by going to www.theholler.org/auctions. Bids will be accepted until 3pm on July 16th.
