PRESTONSBURG, KY.–There is undoubtedly a wealth of musical talent in this region. One local musician is using his talents to help our furry friends. Floyd County musician Troy Burchett just recorded his debut album at the Mountain Arts Center studio in Prestonsburg and is having his official CD release party there where all of the proceeds from his CD sales from that evening will be donated to the Animal Alliance of East Kentucky. A cause that is close to his heart.

“I have a rescue animal of my own, a little pet called Scoobie, he’s a little dog. I have had him for about 17-years. He had gotten hit by a car and left in the road so I brought him home and I have had him ever since. He’s been one of the best friends I could’ve ever asked for. So, if you have a little buddy or you know someone that does, then you know how precious they are. Scoobie to me is very important; I love him more than I could tell you. So, if you can help somebody then it’s worth it, music with a cause. “

Troy’s CD release party will be held at the Mountain Arts Center Friday February 9th from 6-9pm. There will be plenty of food and music by Troy, Jason Goble and others and it’s all free.
