Pikeville, KY — Pikeville Police have arrested two in connection to an alleged child abuse case. According to the arrest citations, 25-year-old Kylene Anderson and 26-year-old Betty Maynard both of Pikeville were arrested after a 2-year-old child was discovered to have been severely physically abused. The child had bruises on her face, arms, legs and buttocks. The child was very hungry and when taken into protective custody ate so fast the child threw up. According to the child’s mother, Kylene Anderson, the adults in the household spank the child everyday hitting her on the buttocks with a wooden paddle and slapping the child in the face with their hands. Anderson and Maynard were both lodged in the Pike County Detention Center charged with Criminal Abuse 1st degree of a child 12 years of age or younger.
