DORTON, Ky. — A Pike County child is dead following an ATV crash.

It happened just before 10 p.m., Thursday. First responders received a call reporting the crash on the Hillbilly ATV Trail system.

According to Kentucky State Police, Jeremy Griffey, 25, of Ashcamp, was operating the ATV with a 3-year-old boy as a passenger, when the ATV overturned.

The child was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

KSP continues to investigate the incident.
