PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A dispatcher for the Prestonsburg/Floyd County Emergency Communications Center has been suspended without pay, following her arrest on shoplifting charges.

Rebecca Fletcher, 43, of Paintsville, was arrested at her home on Friday. She is charged with shoplifting in both Johnson and Floyd counties.
Paintsville Police received a tip that Fletcher had alleged stolen or attempted to steal more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Paintsville Walmart. After further investigation, they concluded that she had also allegedly stolen more than $250 worth of merchandise from Prestonsburg Walmart.
in addition to her arrest and suspension, Fletcher has also had her security clearance revoked.
“While it is important to remember that individuals are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law, it is also important for public servants to heed the higher standard that they are held to, that their personal decisions reflect on an entire public trust, and behavior of this type will not be tolerated by employees of the City of Prestonsburg,” Prestonsburg Police said in a statement.
Fletcher was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
