PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman’s trial on federal child porn charges has been postponed for a sixth time, after her attorney requested additional time to work out a plea agreement.

Pamela Denise Sargent, 45, of Kimper, is charged with four counts of producing child pornography.
The charges are punishable by 15-to-30 years in prison.

The case began with a child porn investigation in Missouri, where a Park Hills man was arrested for possessing and promoting child porn and sexual exploitation of a minor. The man told police he had received sexually-explicit videos from a Kentucky woman and her daughter, who he believed to be 18.
Police found the videos, as well as the emails which contained them. That allowed them to trace the videos back to Sargent.

Court records describe two of the videos, which allegedly show Sargent engaging in sexual acts with two children, believed to be between the ages of 3 and 5.

Sargent had most recently been scheduled to go on trial February 2nd, but on Tuesday, her attorney asked to postponed it for 30 days. As justification for the delay, he said he had only recently received a plea offer from the prosecution following lengthy negotiations, and he needed the additional time for her to consider the offer and to prepare for if she chose not to accept it.

If the two sides do not come to an agreement, Sargent is now scheduled to go on trial March 30 in Lexington federal court.
