Children removed after drugs found in home; two arrested

MARTIN COUNTY, KY.-The drug epidemic affects everyone and those most often affected are children. Police say that was the case early this morning at a Groundhog hollow residence in Martin County when deputies responded to the call of the possibility that children was staying in that residence without heat, running water or electricity and that the possibility of meth was being manufactured inside the home.

When deputies arrived, they were given permission to search the residence and that’s when they found several syringes along with other drug paraphernalia. One of the deputies while searching was actually stuck in the palm of the hand with an uncapped syringe. Arrested were 35-year old Herbert Blevins of Warfield and his live in girlfriend 41-year old Anetta Wilson of Crum West Virginia. Blevins was arrested and charged with 3rd degree assault of a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor. Wilson was also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor. The children inside the home, ages 4 and 7, were removed and placed in temporary custody.
