Crash kills one, injures Floyd deputy

A fatal crash involving a Floyd County Sheriff’s deputy has closed a portion of Ky. 321 in Prestonsburg and police are continuing to investigate the wreck.
As reported by our media affiliate WLEX in Lexington, Ky. 321 near Highlands ARH Hospital was shut down Tuesday morning following a crash which killed one person. LEX18 is reporting that weather is believed to have been a factor in the crash, and the wreck happened during Tuesday’s snowfall.
Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt confirmed to LEX18 that one of his deputies was involved in the crash and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Floyd County Sheriff’s dispatch tells Mountain Top News that the Prestonsburg Police Department is in charge of the investigation into the fatal collision.
