PIKEVILLE, Ky. — It’s that time of year again! This weekend, we lose an hour of sleep as time springs forward.

Because the time changes twice a year, the Pikeville Fire Department would like to remind residents it’s a good time to check their smoke detectors while they are updating their clocks.

Daylight saving time officially begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
