Drugs And Backing Into Police Cruiser Lands Two In Jail

Logan County, WV — An Ohio man is behind bars after backing into a Sheriff Deputy’s cruiser. According to the Logan County, West Virginia Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Darrell Gossett of Columbus, Ohio was charged with improper backing, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy. 30-year-old Brandon Thomas Christian of Logan was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, conspiracy and prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Deputies responded to a residence for a drug investigation. According to a press release, as deputies arrived, an SUV driven by Gossett backed into a deputy’s cruiser. Gossett was detained and deputies found a small bag of marijuana in his jacket pocket. Deputies then search Gossett’s vehicle and found 258 grams of crystal meth. Christian was inside the home when deputies arrived, but a vehicle was parked with a passenger door open. Deputies could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and noticed a small safe in the passenger floorboard. Christian told deputies marijuana was inside the safe. After searching, deputies found a half pound of marijuana, assorted pills and a loaded pistol. Gossett is being held on a $100,000.00 cash bond while Christian is being held on a $35,000.00 cash bond. Both are lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
