Eastern Kentucky has always been about community and neighbors helping each other. Southern Biscuit & Grill wanted to emphasize the point that some people in our region struggle with funds at times, so they decided to add a “pay it forward” board in their restaurant. Southern Biscuit & Grill owner, Gary Collins says that he once had a customer that had forgotten their wallet, so he went ahead and took care of his check. Collins says the gentleman returned the next day and left $50 dollars to cover a few meals since Collins had provided such a kind deed. The concept is simple where you can either pick off a ticket and give it to a staff member for a pre-paid meal, or you can help others by purchasing any menu item and they will hang the ticket on the board for those in need. Collins says this concept will stay in effect at the restaurant even after the holidays.
